  * DESKCOPY und DESKFMT - (C) 1993 Roland Schorr, INGENIUM. !!!SHAREWARE!!! *
  ****************************************************************************

  IMPORTANT: Read the appendix 12.05.1993 - 13.08.1993!

DESKCOPY, DESKFMT and Trashdel are programs to replace the desktop-functions
for formatting, copying and deleting files. The programs are 100% GEM-
compatible and allow other processes to work while formatting, copying, etc.

                    DONT GIVE REGISTERED VERSIONS AWAY!
                    ===================================

For unregistered versions: It is allowed to copy it anyway, to give it
anyone, as far as there is no commercial for copying, etc. It's allowed to
put on PD-disks, as far as the price is not > 4 US-$.
THE FILES HAVE TO BE COMPLETE and UNCHANGED!

  NEWCOPY.PRG
  NEWCOPY.RSC
  [NEWCOP3D.RSC]
  FMT.PRG
  FMT.RSC
  [FMT3D.RSC]
  TRASHDEL.PRG/TRASHDEL.TOS
  HANDBUCH.TXT/MANUAL.TXT
README.TXT <-- You are just reading it...

But the programs are NOT FREEWARE at all - if you use it, you have to pay
25 US-$ to the author Roland Schorr. For this price you get registered for
all DESKCOPY-programs: DESKCOPY, DESKFMT and Trashdel.

Use these programs on your own fault!

IMPORTANT HINT: If the programs run under MultiTOS, press ESC (Escape-key)
after the program terminating in the desktop-File-Windows for updating. So
far I did not get the Newdesk to update after a Mediach() from the DESKCOPY-
  set.

  ============================================================================

  a) Install DESKCOPY

  Copy the files NEWCOPY.PRG, NEWCOPY.RSC, FMT.PRG, FMT.RSC and TRASHDEL.PRG
into your MultiTOS-folder (usually C:\MULTITOS\). In this folder there is a
file called "GEM.CNF" - load this file to a simple ASCII-Editor (7up, etc.).
If there are some lines starting with "setenv DESKCOPY=", "setenv DESKFMT="
just edit them, in each other case you have to enter them:

  [...]
  setenv DESKCOPY=C:\MULTITOS\NEWCOPY.PRG
  setenv DESKFMT=C:\MULTITOS\FMT.PRG
  [...]

You can also take another path for installing DESKCOPY - remember to edit
GEM.CNF after that with the correct path!

If you got any problems after booting MultiTOS, repeat each single step. If
DESKCOPY or MultiTOS will not run after some tries, delete the edited
"setenv"-lines in "GEM.CNF". In this case please contact the author.

Copy the file "TRASHDEL.PRG" into your "AUTO"-folder.

  b) NEW:

08.04.1993: after so much reactions from users, there is now a new version
of DESKCOPY - so far you can only copy same disktypes on each other.

13.04.1993: The new "TRASHDEL.PRG" is ready now, replace your old Trashdel
  with the new one.

12.05.1993: A total rewritten Version of DESKCOPY is ready now. It does not
look nice so far, the make up will be done next days.

24.05.1993: the german Manual-book is ready. Some cuts of it are saved in
the file "HANDBUCH.TXT". But for optimizing your system you have to register
  - for that the "Handbuch" was written...

26.06.1993: DESKCOPY now works with each TOS-version!!! You only need
SELECTRIC (german fileselector, english versions available) for this!

23.07.1993: A bug with MultiTOS is removed. When copying two different
disktypes to each other, the DESKFMT made a bus-error.

05.08.1993: DESKCOPY, DESKFMT and Trashdel are now also available in
  english...

13.08.1993 Another bug (copying DD-Disks to DD-Disks) is now removed. This
new archive contains the german, and also an english version, SELECTRIC is
  included.
