                        Migraph Merge-It
Atari Version
Thank you for purchasing Migraph Merge-It. This file contains
information not contained in the manual. Please read through it
before using Merge-It.

For either DTP applications or reduction via Grayscale files,
most scans will be done at 300 or 400 dpi. However if you are
scanning monochrome line-art for screen usage, you may need to
scan at 100dpi. The following instructions pertain to those
times when you may chose to scan at 100dpi and then merge the two
halves.

I) Merging 100dpi scans:

When using Touch-Up or Scan & Save to save your scan halves, the
default page width will be the width of your scanner multiplied
by the dpi setting of the scanner. (For example 1224 at 300dpi)
However, when scanning at 100dpi, the image width is only 408
pixels wide, so a minimum default width of 640 pixels is used.

After scanning at 100dpi....

Images saved from Scan & Save at 100dpi automatically save only
the image portion.

When you save the images from Touch-Up using the "Save Full"
command, a dialog box will appear asking you whether you want to
save the Image or Page. Make sure that you select "Image", so
only the scanned 100dpi image portion is saved and not any blank
white space on the right half side of the scan.

This is very important. Otherwise when you are running
Merge-It the left scan will only show the white area in the
     overlap section.

II) Program and Accessory Version
Remember that between Merge-It and Scan & Save, you have several
methods to run these programs which will provide additional
flexibility for your system configuration.

Some people may choose to run:
Scan & Save or Touch-Up as a .PRG with Merge-It as an .ACC
     or
Merge-It as a .PRG with Scan & Save as the .ACC
