IDE autoboot driver installer

AUBDUD91.PRG

Shortage explanation: AUB : autoboot
DU : dual - for normal and twisted IDE
D91 - DOS compatible partition support driver V0.91

Features: this is stand alone autoboot driver installer, so no
need for any drivers and similar when installing.

It installs 2 versions of driver at once: 1 for normal IDE,
and 1 for IDE with twisted cable (hardware swapped low/high
bytes for max. speed with DOS partitioned drives).

Installation may be done with any of IDE type - program
will inform what is current. When using, proper driver will
be automatically loaded, regardless with which IDE type
 was installed.

To having autoboot with twisted IDE modified TOS is
required. I have patches for following TOS versions:
 TOS 1.04, KAOS 1.4.2, TOS 1.62/1.06, TOS 2.06 .

To having autoboot with TOS below 2.06 also modified
TOS is required - see above for already supported.
No sense to make support for lower TOS than 1.04
as changing/reprogramming of ROM chips is necess-
ary in any case, and lower TOS versions have problems
 with hard disks.

Driver features: supports DOS partitioned disks, CF
cards. For partitions above 32MB BIGDOS is required.
Then max. part. size is 2GB. First (boot) partition
must be max 1GB for successful load of BIGDOS.
XHDI support (for Mint) - support for FAT32 too.
Max 14 partitions total on master and slave.
Selectable boot partition while load - it allows
easy and quick configuration selection by making
diverse settings (ACC, AUTO programs) in diverse
 partitions.

Speed: with normal IDE on ST machines is about
350 Kbytes/sec because of SW byte-swap. On Mega ST,
STE with blitter speed is about 700 Kbytes/sec.
With twisted cable speed is about 1300 Kbytes/sec without
blitter, and over 1700 Kbytes/sec with blitter.

Installation: partition drive or CF card on PC. Best is
to copy right after partitioning BIGDOS in AUTO folder
of C partition (first one), and into any other what may
be boot partition by usage. Important is that BIGDOS
be at partition beginning. After it connect drive to Atari
and run AUBDUD91.PRG from floppy. With it install.
 is done.

For case that need loading driver from floppy use
 suplied IDED_7 and TWID_7 programs.

   New in version 0.91 :

Added some options while booting driver: F1 or HELP will
show Help page. Pressing key 8 will create Hole in lower
512KB. It is good for running older games, incompatible
with newer TOS versions. Pressing key 0 will create 1MB
Hole - 2MB RAM minimum. For 512KB Hole is 1MB min.
For instance Millennium 2.2 will run with Hole of 512KB
under TOS 2.06 or on Falcon.
F10 will perform cold boot - for case that need to
cleanup some resident things.

New in autoboot installer:
There is option for saving current state (before install)
of hard disk beginning (what will be overwritten with driver).
Will save 12KB into file with name CURST.BIN .

This version of driver is freeware.
