COME IS A BET JUST LIKE PASS EXCEPT THAT IT
IS PLACED AFTER THE SHOOTER HAS ESTABLISHED
A POINT AND IT IS BASED ON THE NEXT ROLL OF
the dice. That is, if the next roll is 7
or 11 you win. If the next roll is 2, 3 or
12 you lose. If it is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10
your bet will be moved to the point box and
you must wait for that number to repeat to
win or a 7 to appear to lose. You may make
a new come bet on every roll except the
come out roll which is when the shooter has
not established a point. In that case you
should bet the pass line. When a Come
point has been established for your Come
bet you may place odds on it just as with
pass bets. To do so place the proper amount
of money in the come box and tell the deal-
er that you want odds on your come bet.

Dont Pass is a bet that the shooter will
lose. If the next roll is a 2, 3 or 12 you
win. If it is 7 or 11 you lose. If it is
4, 5 , 6, 8, 9 or 10 your bet will be moved
to a space behind the point box. You will
then lose if that number comes up again but
win if a 7 appears first. You may lay odds
on this bet. In this program odds bets
appear above the top most boxes. The house
pays even money on Dont Pass bets. They
pay 1 to 2 on odds on 4 or 10, 2 to 3 on
odds on 5 or 9 and 5 to 6 on odds on 6 or 8.
Odds bets are placed by putting the proper
amount of money on the table in the Dont
Pass box and telling the dealer you are
laying odds on your Dont Pass bet. The
dealer will place your bet slightly offset
on top of your original bet. On many
tables the Dont Pass box is also used for
Dont Come bets.

Pass is a bet that the shooter will win.
This bet should be placed before the come
out (first roll). If the shooter roll 7 or
11 on the first roll you win. If he throws
2, 3 or 12 you lose. If he throws any oth-
er number that becomes his point. The
shooter must now throw that point again for
you to win. If however, he throws a 7 be-
fore throwing that point you lose. The
shooters point is marked in the boxes above
with a puck so everyone will know the point.
Once a shooter establishes a point you may
improve your overall odds by placing an odds
bet. This is done by placing the additional
wager adjacent to your original bet but just
outside (below) the pass line box. The
house pays winners even money on the pass
line bet. However, on the odds bet they
pay true and correct odds; on 4 and 10 they
pay 2 to 1, on 5 and 9 they pay 3 to 2 and
on 6 and 8 they pay 6 to 5. Every house has
a limit on the size of the odds bet you may
place. The most common limit is single odds
which means an amount equal to the original
bet. Some houses allow double odds meaning
twice the original amount and a few houses
allow triple odds. In addition there is a
courtesy allowed to accomodate the uneven
payoff amounts. A single odds house will
allow an odds bet on 5 or 9 to be raised to
the next even betting unit and a bet on 6
or 8 that is a multiple of 3 or 4 may be
raised to the same multiple of 5.

You may bet on a number 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10
before it occurs on a Come Out roll or as a
Come point. This is called a Place bet.
The house will pay better than even money
but not quite true odds. For 4 and 10 they
pay 9 to 5, for 5 and 9 they pay 7 to 5 and
for 6 and 8 they pay 7 to 6. The dealer
will be happy to accept your bet. You must
of course bet an amount that will allow a
proper payoff. To make a Place bet select
the Place box and then move the curser to
the point box for that number. You may re-
move a Place bet at any time. Also, see
Buy.
~50 1
You may Buy a number if you think it will
come up before a 7 does. The house will
pay you true odds if you win but they
charge you a fixed fee of 5 % of the bet
for this service. Thus, you must pay $1
for each $20 bet; smaller amounts are not
allowed. You may also Buy the Dont Come
which means that you are betting that the
number will not come up before a 7 is
thrown. To make a Buy bet select the Buy
box and then move the curser to the Point
box or Dont Come box for the desired number.
You may remove a Buy bet at any time and
the service charge will be returned to you.
Also, see Place.
~51 1
Odds, Buy and Place bets are normally not
active (Off) on the shooters come out roll.
They are normally active (On) on all other
rolls. You may however, tell the dealer
that you want your bets to be On or Off as
you see fit. To do so, select the box. If
the odds are off and you win or lose your
regular bet will be handled normally and
your odds bet will be returned to you.
