16/256-colour palettes
----------------------

The following palettes can be used in 16- or 256-colour video modes:

1. ATARI.PAL: the standard Atari (Falcon) palette.

2. MAC.PAL: the standard Mac 256-colour palette, rearranged so that the first
16 colours are the same as the Mac 16-colour palette.

3. WINDOWS.PAL: the standard Windows 256-colour palette, rearranged so that
the first 16 colours are the same as the Windows 16-colour palette.

256-colour palettes
-------------------

The following palettes are best used in 256-colour video modes:

1. MAC256.PAL: the standard Mac 256-colour palette, with the colours in their
original order.

2. WIND256.PAL: the standard Windows 256-colour palette, with the colours in
their original order.

3. NETSCAPE.PAL: the standard Netscape palette (similar to MAC256.PAL, but
only contains 216 useful colours).

TIP -> Use MAC.PAL as the default palette for viewing or converting images.
This gives better results than the standard Atari palette in most cases.
