	Introduction
******************************************************************************

Gameplay and Story:

The gameplay isn't very fresh. Such first person games like Duke Nukem 3D
or Doom are well known on the PC market. So why not have one on Falcon ?
The story of such games basically seems to be always the same. This time
our hero has a real problem. He has to solve several special agent jobs in
an atomic reactor company. He stays in contact with his command base via
laptop - getting news about secret rooms or the mission briefing at the
very start of each episode. To fulfill his jobs there are powerful weapons
and special agent equipment like night viewers or motion tracker spread over
the episode. And last but not least tons of bad guys walking around ...
(but also some civil ones !)

Engine:

The engine is capable of visualizing rooms like in other well known games.
There are lifts, moveable platforms, switches, even moving trains, secret
rooms and doors . And we think it is quite fast. Maybe it could be faster
and include floor/ceiling textures. But we are pleased with it as it is ...
or do You want to wait till eternity for the release ?

Graphics:

We are using the Falcon Truecolor Mode for all screen outputs. All textures
are rendered. The enemies have been digitized using a video camera. This
allows us to include very different characters. We spread 9 different ones
in our episodes (including some civilians too).

Sound:

During the game you can hear a lot of samples (e.g. shots, lifts, ...).
There is no additional music. But we included a special feature: our
hero talks ! There are a lot of situations where he is giving his special
comment through the speaker. The title menu consists of a new masterpiece
from Sirch Retork formerly known as Tyan/STAX. Well, we think, that's it
for the sound part.

RUNNING offers several screenmodes for optimal playing on every Falcon.
You have the following options:

320x200: High detail (<F2>), no cinemascope (<C>), no fullscreen (<F>)
160x200: Low detail (<F3>), no cinemascope (<C>), no fullscreen (<F>)

a) Changing the vertical video resolution
b) Changing the horizontal video resolution (doubling rows)
c) Changing the screen size
d) Changing the console mode
e) The crosshair
f) Some resolution hints

a) Changing the vertical video resolution

The cinemascope effect changes the vertical resolution (x !) to
256 pixels on RGB and 160 pixels on VGA.

Special options on RGB:

	256x200: High detail (<F2>), cinemascope (<C>), no fullscreen (<F>)
	128x200: Low detail (<F3>), cinemascope (<C>), no fullscreen (<F>)

Special options on VGA:

	160x200: High detail (<F2>), cinemascope (<C>), no fullscreen (<F>)
	 80x200: Low detail (<F3>), cinemascope (<C>), no fullscreen (<F>)

b) Changing the horizontal video resolution (doubling rows)

Doubling scanlines is possible only in RGB Mode ! Simply press the <F> key.
So we get additional modes like these:

	320x120: High detail (<F2>), no cinemascope (<C>), fullscreen (<F>)
	160x120: Low detail (<F3>), no cinemascope (<C>), fullscreen (<F>)
	256x120: High detail (<F2>), cinemascope (<C>), fullscreen (<F>)
	128x120: Low detail (<F3>), cinemascope (<C>), fullscreen (<F>)

c) Changing the screen size

Pressing the function keys <F4>, <F5> or the keys <(>, <)>, </>, <*> on the
keypad controls the size of your window.

d) Changing the console mode

You can find a console at the bottom of the screen in default mode.
Using cinemascope or fullscreen the console disappears - with the
<D> key You activate the quick console only displaying some items and
important energy/shield information.

e) The crosshair

The key <R> activates the crosshair.

f) Some resolution hints

For optimal speed on a standard falcon we recommend to use

	<F3> for low detail
<(> on the keypad for decreasing the vertical size of the window
<)> on the keypad for decreasing the horizontal size of the window

Try:
	 <C> for a cinemascope effect
	 <F> for the fullscreen mode
<D> for displaying some console items

	Laptop
******************************************************************************

Agent Orange - hey that's the name of our hero - has a nice laptop.

At the beginning of each level the mission control center tries to contact You
establishing a link to Your laptop. You always get the new mission briefing
here.

Additionally the laptop will be shown after activating a terminal in the level
(done by pressing <SPACE> in front of a terminal).
In this -laptop mode- you are connected to a terminal. This means that You
get some hints or new information about Your mission.
Press <ESC> for return to game mode.

Manually activation is done by pressing <L> in normal game mode.
Function key <F1> establishes a link to the headquarter - and displays You
the mission briefing again.

Please note that all commands (link, connect, exit, help, dir (!) ...) in
laptop mode can be realized typing the commands on the keyboard, too ...

******************************************************************************
	Items
******************************************************************************

Take a look at the console at the bottom of the screen in game mode, please.
There are five fields being empty at the start of the game.
Playing RUNNING You might collect several items. They are exactly displayed
in these five fields.

The item displayed in the middle of these five fields is the activating slot:

	_ _ # _ _ with: - for normal slot
				# activating slot

Press <RETURN> for activate/deactivate the item in the activating slot.

There are three kinds of items:

	a) items, which you can only collect.

	b) items, which can be activated (and deactivated).

Activating a class b) item turns on a red light below that
		item.

	c) items, which can be activated (and deactivated) but are
limited in the time of their functionality.

Activating a class c) item starts a timer. The timelimit is
shown below the activated item (a bar from green to right).
After some time the item will lose its function !

But You can collect more than five items ...
Use <HELP> and <UNDO> to scroll the items in the slots and move an icon in
the activating slot in the middle to reactivate it with <RETURN>.

******************************************************************************
	Map
******************************************************************************

You know games like RUNNING from the PC? Ok, then you know the map functions
of these games. RUNNING offers a map, too. But we decided to hide the map
at the beginning of the first episode. So You won't see anything else than the
player himself in the map.

RUNNING knows two kinds of maps which are represented by items:

	- Plan showing all sectors You have visited
	- Full plan	showing an overview of the whole episode

Collect these items while playing RUNNING. If you got them, you
must activate them first (see 3. Items) !!!

Turn on/off map mode with the <TAB> key.
Function keys <F9> and <F10> are zooming in and out.
