ftpmail-begin
Hello Everyone!

This is the HELP-file for the FILESERVER at lafp.tng.oche.de.

*IMPORTANT* *NOTE:*

All commands have to start a the beginning of	each line. The commands	are
NOT case-sensitive. The commands HELP or HILFE are valid	everywhere.
Footers	will be	ignored. A few example scripts	will be	given at the end of
this helpfile.

The comands *LS*, and *DIR* can _only_ be used in the body of the mail.

Valid commands for the fileserver are:
--------------------------------------

*help* or *hilfe*

Just sends back help. (Obvious, isn't it :-)

*begin*
*open*
*start*

You can	use one	of these to START a commandblock. A commandblock consists
of one or more lines with one command	in every line. All lines within	the
message *prior* to these starting commands will be ignored.

There has to be	at least one command	in a commandblock. If	there is no
command at all, you will receive an error message.

*end*
*close*
*quit*

You can	use one of these to	END a	commandblock. All lines	behind this
command will be ignored.

*ls* [path]

With this command you will receive a recursive directory listing starting
at [path]. E. g. 'ls \` will	create	a recursive listing starting at	the
"rootdir".

The actual path	of this	*rootdir* is set by the supervisor of	the system.
E. g. 'rootdir` could be set to g:\upoint\pub\.

*dir* [path]

Similar to 'ls`. Except the directory listing is NOT recursive.

*send* [path\file or magic]
*get* [path\file or magic]

Get a file from [path] and e-mail it back. E. g. 'get pathname\foo.bar`

The selected file(s) will be sent to	your address in UUEncoded form. A
later version will give you the choice of receiving the data in your
favourite form of encoding. E. g. UUE (default), B2A, SHIP, or MIME.

If you	have any questions about the definition of [magic] write to
postmaster@lafp.tng.oche.de.

*subscribe* [maillist]

With this command you	subscribe to the mailing list [maillist]. Where
[maillist] is a	max. 8 character name without separator "."	or extender
e. g. "TXT" or "LST".

If you are already subscribed to the mailing list, you will receive an error
message.

*unsubscribe* [maillist]

To sign off a mailing list. Definition of [maillist] see above.

When I have more time, I will write a longer helpfile. But there is so much
to do and so little time :-)

If you have any questions concerning the fileserver itself or regarding
this helpfile, write to msy@lafp.oche.de (Manfred Ssykor), the author of the
programme.

Example scripts:

open
dir \
quit

Connects to the fileserver and sends back the contents of the root-dir

begin
help
ls \
get pgp\pubring.asc
get info
close

Connects to the	fileserver, sends back a helpfile, the recursive listing of
the root-dir, the file pubring.asc from \pgp\ and the magic 'info'.

open
subscribe xyz
close

Connects to the fileserver and subscribes to the *xyz* mailing list.

begin
unsubscribe xyz
quit

Connects to the fileserver and signs off from the *xyz* mailing list.

I hope you got the picture. Good luck!

Available Magic's are:

pgp-key              -> E:\USENET.ASC         PGP-Key (M.Ssykor)
ftpmc                -> I:\PUB\FTPMC_11.UUE   FTP-Mail-Cruncher
