Yes, but in this case we also need a new standardized file format, so that
all programs accessing mailboxes can use identical methods.

Sure.  When I wrote CLIENT_IP I actually meant the IP used for a dial-up
which does not use dynamic IPs.  This must still exist somewhere, but I'm
unclear on where it is defined now.  It should be somewhere in the dialler
specific stuff though, since it will vary with the ISP called.
