                        (sorry for my bad english)

This archive contain a DESKICON.RSC (color and b/w version) and
NEWDESK.INF to use with it. Using these 2 files you will obtain a
preconfigured desktop (same desktop that I use) else you can modify the
NEWDESK.INF and/or rearrange icons with an icon editor... do as you like,
in short.

This is the list of the archive contents:

MYDESK\
\README.TXT the file that you are reading now
      \LEGGIMI.TXT same file in italian
      \DESKICON.RSC color + b/w icons
      \MONOICON.RSC b/w only icons
\NEWDESK.INF for desktop in 640x480/16 colors
\NEWDESKM.INF for desktop in ST High resolution
      \ICONS\ folder show-icons
             \FILES\*.* files icons
             \FOLDERS\*.* folders icons
             \PROGRAMS\*.* programs icons
\ICON_IMG\ folder with icons in IMG format
               \COLOR\*.* IMG of color icons
               \MONO\*.* IMG of b/w icons

RSC Files
---------
These files contains 141 icons (greater part of these are designed by me
and remaining has been modified, dithered etc.).
The file DESKICON.RSC contain both b/w and 16 colors icons, each icon is
formed by 3 parts: b/w icon, normal color-icon, selected color-icon. You
can use this file on any Atari (I think) but only on Falcon you will get
access to color icons.
For all other Atari (or on Falcon if you want comsume less RAM) you can
use the file MONOICON.RSC that contain only b/w icons and consume about
200Kb RAM less.

INF Files
---------
The INF files are:
-NEWDESK.INF
set the desktop in 640x480/16 colors - for Falcon (& DESKICON.RSC)
-NEWDESKM.INF
set the desktop in ST High res. - for all Atari (& MONOICON.RSC)
Using one of these files with the DESKICON.RSC or MONOICON.RSC you obtain
a preconfigured desktop with the right installations of icons for
files/folders/programs/devices.
Obviously you can change these files with "Install Icon" menu from desktop
(and then saving the desktop) or using a text editor (more difficult but
more flexible too). In particular the last lines, relative to icons
installed on desktop, are specific for my configuration and should be
removed (these line start with #X).

ICONS Folder
------------
Contain other 3 folders: FILES, FOLDERS, PROGRAMS. If you have installed
the icons, you can view a sample of all the icons in these folders (on
Falcon clicking on icons you can view selected color-icons). Devices icons
(floppy, HD, printer, etc.) are partially installed on desktop and you can
view the remaninig with the "Install Icon" menu.

ICON_IMG Folder
---------------
Contain the IMGs of the icons (color and b/w) grouped in DEVICES, FILES,
FOLDER, PROGRAMS. Useful for a rapid look to icons if you don't want
install them or if you not have a Falcon and want see the color-icons (in
any case, the IMG of selected color-icons aren't present).

INSTALLATION
------------
Place the DESKICON.RSC and NEWDESK.INF into the root of your boot drive
and reset. If you use MONOICON.RSC and/or NEWDESKM.INF obviously you must
rename these files before.
*ATTENTION*
-Both INF files in the archive are greater than 4Kb (standard limit of
NEWDESK.INF), for using them you must have, in the AUTO folder, the prgs
SHBUF.PRG and GEMRAM.PRG (2 prgs by Martin Osieka respectively for:
enlarge buffer for NEWDESK.INF to 16 Kb, moving GEM to the RAM (needed by
SHBUF.PRG))
-For users of SToop (at last v.1.05, i don't know about other versions): I
discovered a bug that limit the size of NEWDESK.INF, in the case you use
SToop for choosing from various INF at boot (one of the principal
functions of SToop) if the NEWDESK.INF choosed is greater than 7700 bytes
this is not correctly copied to root. Conclusion: the users of SToop must
limit the size of NEWDESK.INF to max 7700 bytes (the 2 INF in the archive
are just into limit)!

DISTRIBUTION
------------
Obviously you can do everything of this archive: copy, modify, delete etc.
(in any case, I should like if you don't put in distribution modified
archive).
However I have spent much time on all this, therefore you must pay a LOT
for using these files... ehm joke :-) this archive is Postcardware, if you
like it send me a postcard... :-)
