FSMGDOS Developer's Package
---------------------------

The master disks included in the package contain the files listed below:

Disk 1: FSM1.LZH --- archived contents of FSMGDOS disk 1
FSM2.LZH --- archived contents of FSMGDOS disk 2
FSM4.LZH --- archived contents of FSMGDOS disk 4

Disk 2: FSM3.LZH --- archived contents of FSMGDOS disk 3
XLHARC.TTP -- program to extract files from *.LZH archives
README.TXT -- This file you are now reading

Disk 3: FSM5.LZH --- archived contents of FSMGDOS disk 5
FSM6.LZH --- archived contents of FSMGDOS disk 6

In order to reduce the number of disks required to distribute FSMGDOS and
the related files to developers, everything has been compressed and placed
into archive files. Before you can do anything, you need to use the
included program to extract the contents of these files onto your hard
disk. Follow the steps below to perform the installation.

If you want to create a set of floppy disks rather than extract everything
onto the hard disk, then note step 5a. If you are installing onto the hard
disk, you can ignore step 5a.

Please note that the FSMGDOS Install program must run from floppy disk. If
you intend to use this program to create your working FSMGDOS installation,
then you MUST create a set of floppy disks.

1) Create the folder where you want everything to go. For our examples
we will call this folder D:\FSMGDOS, but you can use any name and any
drive. But you must have at least 3.5 megabytes free disk space on
     that partition.

2) Copy the XLHARC.TTP file from disk 2 into the new folder.

3) Copy the FSM1.LZH file from disk 1 into the new folder.

4) Double-click on XLHARC.TTP. When the OPEN APPLICTION box appears,
enter "xz FSM1.LZH" and then select the OK button. The files and
folders within the archive file will be extracted and placed into the
     D:\FSMGDOS folder.

5) Delete the FSM1.LZH file from the folder (NOT THE MASTER DISK!)

5a) If you are creating a set of floppy disks, then at this point you
should move the extracted files to a blank, formatted, double-sided
floppy disk, then remove and label this disk.

6) Repeat steps 3, 4, & 5 for each of the LZH files on the master disks.

7) Installation is now complete.

The disks 1-5 represented by the LZH files are identical to the end-user
release version of FSMGDOS. Disk 6 consists of additional information
especially for developers, such as sample source code and function
bindings.
