THE ASCII TABLE DIALOG is invoked from the Options menu
or by pressing ^A. It gives an overview of the Atari
ASCII character set.

CLICK ON A CHARACTER to insert it into a text.

CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TEXT using the pull down menu below
the character set.

ALTERNATIVE METHODS to get characters not available on
the keyboard are:

   1. While working in a text window, hold down the
ALTERNATE key, type a decimal ASCII code on the
numerical keypad, and release alternate. The
character corresponding to the ASCII code is
      inserted into the text.

** This works for all versions of the Operating
         System.

** The ASCII code of the character under the
mouse pointer is displayed in the ASCII Table
         dialog.

   2. (dead keys) Press control plus a special code for
an accent, then type a letter. If it is
available, the letter and the accent will be
combined. For a table of these codes see the
      printed manual.
