           README for HPChrome v1.5 (unregistered version)

Welcome to HPChrome. If you haven't used it before, you are about
to enjoy seeing your pictures printed on your DeskJet just the way
you like them: any size, anywhere on the page, cropped to suit,
with powerful control over colour rendering. Hope you like it!

===============

You surely don't need another sermon about the benefits of registering
the shareware programs you use. However, you may like to know that
the existence of this version of HPChrome is SOLELY due to those who
registered earlier, less capable versions. Their support translated
DIRECTLY into my enthusiasm for developing this and other programs.

Bugs etc
========

We're glad to get bug reports as it helps us improve the product. If
you have a file that HPChrome won't print correctly, please tell us
about the problem, and if possible, send us a copy of the file. It's
all too true that just because HPChrome prints all *our* files, that
doesn't mean it will print *yours*.

We know we don't do:

*	TIFFs other than 8- and 24-bit
*	LZW compressed TIFFs
*	IMGs other than 8-bit
*	Compressed Spectrum 512/4096

If you have other examples, or files that we think we do but we don't,
then please let us know.

How to register
===============

We'd like five pounds, please. Unfortunately we don't take credit
cards, and our bank charges us megabucks to collect money of cheques
from overseas. Therefore, if you live outside the UK we would like
you to send either:

*	a UK cheque for 5.00 (your bank will sell you this)
*	ten dollar bills
*	in the last resort you can send us your local currency
	equivalent of $10. Perhaps we'll go to your country
	on holiday some time!
