1   Welcome to Infitra.

Thank you for your interest in our Atari compatible software.
You have chosen the most reliable email tool for your computer currently available.
As Infitra is a cutting edge internet program you may expect to get frequent updates.
Infitra is programmed in Assembler and as you will soon see it runs very speedy.

Infitra runs with STiK or STING currently and will run on any TOS machine as well as
Hades, Medusa, Eagle, Milan TOS compatibles.
Infitra is compatible with NOVA graphicscards as well as virtually any other graphicscard.

Please read this operating manual very thoroughly before attempting to setup Infitra.
Also read the enclosed documents in the DOCS folder as they may contain useful data
not mentioned in this manual.

2   Setting up Infitra

Unpack the archive to a harddisk of your choice (Infitra WON'T run from floppydisk).

Open the folder infitra and doubleclick the Infitra.app icon.
Infitra will now try to install itself and will start searching for QED on drive C:\QED\QED.APP.
If OLGA is installed Infitra will use settings made in OLGA.INF.

After that you will see the program window being opened and a small globe icon called 'MisterX'
will appear in the left field.
You may experiment with this icon by doubleclicking on it after which a number of folders will
appear.

a   Account settings
You can input your account settings by selecting 'Mailbox' and then 'Account settings' from the 
dropmenu where after you are already 'clear to go online'.

b  Creating relations
A relation is a person together with it's emailadress.
You can create relations by selecting the option 'add relation' from the mailbox menu.
After inputting name and adress of this relation and clicking OK a new folder in the group
called 'relations' will be added.
You may input as many relations as you want and you can easily send them mail by putting the 
cursor on the desired relation and pressing ALT-S on the keyboard. Infitra will automatically fill in
the right name and email address. Go ahead try!

c  Changing relations
If a relation is no longer needed or if his/her email address is changed you can edit the data by
putting the cursor on desired relation and selecting 'change relation'  from the mailbox menu.
You can then enter the new data and keep the old documents in it's folder.
You can read your mail in the right field by selecting a message from the 'mailbox'.
You can open the 'new mail' folder by doubleclicking on it and by doubleclicking on one of the 
'paper' icons that appear.

3    Mail functions

a  Get mail
You can easily get mail from any account by putting the cursor on the desired mailbox name and
selecting 'get mail' from the 'mail' menu. (you must be online to get it of course)
After downloading all mail you can then view them in the 'new mail' folder of desired mailbox.

b  Check mail
If you only want to check if there is any mail in your mailbox but don't want to retreive it you can select
the option 'check mail' from the 'mail' menu.
You can watch the statusbar for the data.

c  List on server
The 'list on server' option from the 'mail' menu is shortcutted by the 'list' icon in the main toolbar.
Infitra will then check if there is mail, you can select or deselect retreive or delete per mail.
Infitra uses an intelligent retreival system that retreives new mail and deletes only the mail you retreived
in a former session (only available if your server uses this protocol, test to be sure). 
You will then always have a backup of the most recent mail waiting for you on the server. 



4 Sending messages

a  Send new message
You can send a new message by clicking the 'send' icon in the toolbar or by selecting 'send 
a message' from the 'mail' menu.
After inputting the address in the popup you must click 'edit' to go to the external editor.
After you are finished writing your message you 'save and quit' your editor after which 
Infitra will ask if you want to send or queue your message and if you want to attach a file.

To actually send after queueing you must select 'send all queue' while online.

b  Reply to current message
If you are reading a message at the 'new mail' box and want to reply to it you must select
'reply message' from the mail menu.
After checking the address in the popup you must click 'edit' to go to the external editor.
After you are finished writing your message you 'save and quit' your editor after which 
Infitra will ask if you want to send or queue your message and if you want to attach a file.

To actually send after queueing you must select 'send all queue' while online.

c  Forwarding messages
If you get a message you want to forward you must select 'forward message' from the 'mail'
menu and put the new addresss into the respective fields.

d  Preparing a mail queue
You can prepare a mail queue by clicking 'send a message' from the 'mail' menu for every 
message you want to send and clicking 'queue' after creating each message.
You will then have to be online only for the time it takes to send all messages. 
To actually send after queueing you must select 'send all queue' while online.

e  Sending a queue

If your cursor is set to the mailbox containing the queue you can 
select the option 'Send all queue' to send the queue.

f  Adding a textfile to new or forwarded messages

Simply click the 'file' button from the 'send' popup menu to enclose a 
textfile.

g  Attachments

1    If you want to enclose a file to send with your message, simply click 
     the 'attachments button from the send popup.
2    To decode atachments, select 'extract bin' from the dropdown menu.
     You will then get a file selector with the atachment name in it 
     so you can save it to the desired place on your harddrive.
     (Infitra doesn't recognize the atachment itself yet, hang on:-) 
    

h  Resending a message

If you want to resend a message previously sent, you can select this 
mail in the 'out mail' folder and select 'resend message' from the 
dropmenu bar.
If you want to edit the message, simply click the edit button in the 
send popup (which appears when you selected 'resend message' from the 
dropdown menu.

I Export as HTML

If you want to view a document in CAB / ADAMAS you might want to 
export the message as html, simply rename the 'MESSAGE.TXT' to 
MESSAGE.HTM and Infitra will supply the appropriate HTML code.


5 Using the toolbar icons

EXIT                  exit's the program
ADDRESS          will in the future open the addessbook
SEND                 allows you to send a new message 
LIST                  gets a maildirectory from the server after which you select what 
                        to do with which mail message.
PRINT               will in the future print the message with selected fonts etc...
DELETE             will update and delete all 'marked for deletion' mail 
                       
                       
                       
6    Keyboard shortcuts


Currently working keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys):

  - <control> Q		Quit the program

  - <alt> G		Retrieve and delete all mail
  - <alt> <shift> G		Retrieve new and delete old mail (1/2)
  - <alt> <control> G	Retrieve and delete old mail (1/2)
  - <alt> <shift> <control> G	Retrieve all mail without deleting
  - <alt> C		Check for mail on the server
  - <alt> L		List mail on the server (1)
  - <alt> S		Send a message
  - <control> N		Send a NEW message
  - <alt> R		Reply to a message
  - <alt> F		Forward a message
  - <alt> A		Send all Queued mail
  - <alt> Q		Re-Send a message

1. works only if the server supports the 'TOP' command.
2. works only if the server add the 'Status: " tag in the mailheader.

- General key controls in mailbox field:
  - Return		-> the same as a double click
  - cursor keys		-> scroll up/down (with shift page up/down)
  - Home/ <shift> home	-> To top/bottom
  - Delete		-> mark message as deleted
  - Undo			-> Undelete message marked as deleted

- Temporary keyboard shortcuts:
  - <control> Delete	-> Hard Delete message under cursor.

- General key controls in viewer field. These keys normaly control the 
mailbox field, but with the control key hold down they control the view 
window.
  - cursor keys		-> the same as in the mailbox field
  - Home/ <shift> home	-> the same as in the mailbox field



7  Drag and drop in the mailbox window (on the left)

If you want to place mail of one of your relations into the appropriate 
folder you can simply drag and drop it into place.

Another fine function is the possibility to 'drag' a relation folder
using your RIGHT mousebutton onto the already open 'SEND' menu which
will then automatically take over the correct name and emailaddress.

You can also use this function to add recipients to the 'carbon copy'
menu, simply drag and drop with the RIGHT mousebutton.
