to enable Burst Mode on Atari's own TT-Ram cards, followed

I'm beginning to learn about this subject too. I have the
information about the Atari TT-RAM board, which is posted
below, but if anyone can confirm the settings for a GE-Soft
board which takes 8 SIMMs I would be very grateful.

---------[COMP.SYS.ATARI.ST.TECH]---------------------------------
I had trouble with the 2 and 3 chip SIMMs, the TT would crash
after about 5 minutes. I returned them and asked specifically
for 8-chip, no parity 4 meg SIMMs (70 ns). These have worked
for me without a hitch. I think the brand I got was Hitachi.

Also, someone posted the jumper settings needed for 4 meg SIMMs,
(Thanks to dawinic@unity.ncsu.edu for the original post!) here's
the info again:

The jumpers required on a TT-Ram board (CA401058-xxx) are:

SIMM type jumper W101 jumper W102 jumper W106
1M x 8 2 - 3 2 - 3 2 - 3
4M x 8 1 - 2 1 - 2 1 - 2

Starting RAM Address jumper W103 jumper W104
$0100 0000 2 - 3 2 - 3

Address Mode jumper W105
NON-BURST 1 - 2
BURST 2 - 3 (default)

went thru the mill on this almost a year ago now... the bottom
line being that _none_ of the 2 chip/3 chip Simms worked in my
TT; they all froze it after about 4 minutes.

the 8 chip/9 chip (with parity) all seemed to work fine, although
various other posters reported difficulties with some manufacturers.
If possible try to find a place that will take them back if they
don't work as some TT's appear to be more finicky than others.

If you would read what I wrote...
_none_ worked in _MY_ TT... TRUE! ymmv

I get the same problem here using 72-pin SIMMs with an AixTT RAM
board. The TT seems to be particularly fussy about the type used.

I hear that "nibble mode" RAM is the one that's required...

80ns on mine.
