[Sigh! This one turns up often enough to be included on a list of
commonly asked questions, did anybody ever do something about this?]

Your best bet is to install your own vdi mouse button handler, save
the "incoming" button mask in a variable and replace the original value
(if I remember correctly it's in d0) with the value for the left button.
After you've done that jump to the original button handler, the whole
thing needs just a couple of assembler instructions, so it's really
trivial. In your event loop just wait for a left button event and then
sample the stored value for the button that was really pressed.

As far as PC Speed vs. PC Ditto II I think PC Ditto II will be a better
product. PC Speed is only going to support CGA. They are working on 16 color
EGA for PC Ditto II-and you will get 16 color EGA out of your standard Atari
SC1224 monitor. The price for PC Ditto II is $299. I think the EGA option
(which, by the way, they say will be the only other addition to the PC Ditto
II board) will cost extra. The original PC Ditto II release will not have it.

Anyone else have this problem:
Whenever I use the "goto line" function or the "find" command from the
shell I loose the mouse pointer.. THat is, it's there but I can't see it.

I gotta run another GEM program which switches the pointer back on before
I can see what I am doing.

grrr. how frustrating. I can't wait to get PC-Speed so I can run f*cking
Turbo C. I sent a letter to Megamax. I will tell you how long they take to
reply to it...

Why do you need PC-Speed to run Turbo-C ?
There is a Turbo-C compiler for Atari ST !!

The compress.ttp which was posted in comp.binaries.atari.st does not work
either. Does anyone have a working copy? (saves a lot of time on 1200baud)

Well, my dealer didn't give me anything that descibed the new features. All
I got were my ROMs and a photocopy of the sheet showing what changes to make
to the Mega mother board to install the six chip set into a two chip system.
And that was just a schematic drawing.

Could someone PLEASE post a copy of the documentation for TOS 1.4 to the net
or mail me a copy and I'll post it.

I went to my local dealer (Computer Fitness in Little Canada, MN) to inquire
about updating my TOS roms. They told me that they could only get 4 sets of
roms that were for the desktop publishing systems. I insisted that I had seen
in the net people from *ATARI* telling us all to take a stroll to our neigh-
borhood dealer.

ATARI, what is going on? How long do I have to wait to be able to buy a ROM
set in a major metropolitan area (mpls/st. paul)? Will you buy my ST from me
so I can buy a computer that is supported by its manufacturer?

oops! I forgot to ask if I get my little ditto sheet about the O.S. with my
receipt for $100!
