ERRR - The version of ProRebel I used is a hacked version of A-Copy
         v. 1.2L
Enough people wanted this demo up there, and this was the ONLY program
that would copy it into file form I decided to take a chance.

I have a 20MB Seagate 125N SCSI hard drive that I outgrew. It's given me
flawless performance, I just needed more storage. I'm asking for $125 for
it- I'll pay shipping, and even throw in power and SCSI cables.

In response to the query about EPROM programmers for the Atari ST, I know of
one from Maplins Electronics in the UK. It works with any computer through
the RS232 port and is quite slow (1200 baud) but is easy to use. Being UK
it needs a 240v AC, 50Hz supply and I imagine that it would thus be difficult
to use in the US. It can program most of the popular EPROMs and I have
developed an Atari ST driver program for it if anyone is interested. The
programmer costs about $180 in the UK. I can supply more information if anyone
is interested.

One thing that may cause your problem is that if GDOS runs and there's no
entry for the resolution it's running in in your assign.sys file, it bombs.
There should be entries for devices 5-9 as well as 1-4. You can copy the
font and driver setup from your entry for device 4 to devices 5-9.

5p screen.sys
list of fonts
6p screen.sys
list of fonts
7p screen.sys
list of fonts

etc.

Hope this helps! My G-Print application's installer doesn't do this so
I found out about it recently (as you can imagine).

Since you have GDOS, you might want to try out the G-Print demo. It's on
atari.archive under gprnt_dmo.arc. I'll post a message about it soon (there's
a new version).

I'd like to build a text-edit routine similar to the one in the Mac
OS that is essentially stand-alone and ready to use in any
application that I or anyone else, happens to be writing.

I guess this means that the editor should support selecting text with
the mouse, standard cut/copy and paste functions and ideally, GDOS
capability (so that VDI routines should be used)

Before I started to re-invent the wheel, I thought I should ask here
in case people have got advice or pieces of code that might be
useful. (I plan to write this in Laser C)

I have been trying (without any luck) to get the remaining articles of a series
that teaches people how to program in GEM. This series is called Professional
GEM Programming and was by Tim Orien. If somebody out there can mail me ANY
of the articles from 14 to 17 I'd be VERY grateful. Once I get the full

Hmm, I've tried BGIF but only in 16 Colours Mode, because my Machine has an
16Mhz Acceleration Board which won't work together with Spectre Pics. The
results weren't too good, now I got VIEWGF12 from terminator and this one is
quite good in 16 Colours Mode, so I presume the SPU Pics it converts to won't
be to bad either. BTW: ViewGif supports quite a few Pic Formats including next
to GIF and Degas also IFF and MacPaint and some more.

The training out here at the Goodwill, is vocational
training. So, it is more like on-the-job training than
anything, because I am being paid a small amount while
working, but yet I am also getting trained at the same
time. My goals for Goodwill are
To develop job search, interviewing, and
      retention skills.
    To assist in vocational exploration
    To develop appropriate socialization skills
    To build confidence and maturity
To attend work daily and to be punctual
To learn to follow directions and rules
    To learn a job skills
I started out making $0.45 per hour, now I am making
$3.80 per hour. Because of the nature that Goodwill
is, the maximum trainees can make is $3.80 per hour.
My training will terminate at Goodwill when I am
hired on with another company. The job skills I
have learned while at Goodwill are office/clerical
work and skills.

I was a kitchen helper and a bus boy. The
goals were for me to help around the kitchen
and clean and clear off the tables after people
were done eating. I had to quit so soon though,
because there simply were not enough customers to
keep me on. I was not the only person who was
laid off at the time.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

I have been working with computers now for about 13 years.
Everything I know about computers, I have basically taught
myself. However, in High School, I was in a couple of
computer classes, and in college I took a computer class.
Although I have not been in working environments with
computers, the information I have learned, I have learned
on my spare time at home. I know how to use just about
any computer system out there, and just about ALL software
If I don't know how to do something with the computer, I
can easily learn it, and generally quite quickly.

DISABILITIES:

I have a slight vision problem. I do not have that
much problems with my vision, unless I am in a very
dim lighted area, and occassionally some small
print is hard for me to read. Whatever I have
been told to do, I WILL accomplish, although some
things I might be slower at doing than others. I
have problems with my asthma, and need an inhaler
or my breathing machine some. Most of the time at
home I use the breathing machine, but at work, I
can bring an inhaler when I need it. I also have
problems with allergies. Due to my allergies, my
nose is stopped up 90% of the time, resulting in
me breathing through my mouth most of the time.
In return, it dries out my mouth and requires me
to need something to drink more than normal. I
will make do though, on what my working
environment consists of though. The one thing I
absolutely CANNOT have is anything with PEANUTS.
PEANUTS or anything with PEANUTS make me severely
sick.

EMERGENCY:

In case of an emergency, you can notify
Mr. or Mrs. B.G. Keen at the same phone number
as is listed for me, or my Dad, Mr. B.G. Keen
at work (713)-644-1206.

Hi,
I'm selling genuine Atari Trak-balls for the Atari ST and the Amiga.
They are the CX80 model and are superior to the original 2600 model that
preceded it. The cost for the trackballs are as follows:

        $25 for standard trak-ball
$35 for standard trak-ball with right button and 6 foot long
            cord

These trackballs work exactly as the mouse. They are also subject to
availability. Postage and handling are extra, I haven't figured out what
it is yet, I'll let you all know.

Send me mail is you are interested.

Subject: TT hard disk chaining
To: Info-Atari16@naucse.cse.nau.edu

I have a buddy who just got a TT. He wishes to connect his 80mb Supra to
the machine (which already has a HD), thus having access to both drives. He
did this by plugging the Supra into the DMA socket on the back of the machine.
The internal hard disk uses the Atari HD software, and is at SCSI 0 (thus is
the boot drive). His Supra is set at SCSI 1.

Problem: The machine sees the Supra, it parks it when park.prg is run, and it
can reformat it, but the desktop cannot see the partitions. He tries to
install icons for the partitions, and cannot do so.

Does anyone know of something obvious he could be doing wrong (dealing
specifically with the TT and the Atari Software)? I have never worked with
the Atari HD software, are there any quirks he/I should know about?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Mr. Pratt,

If you don't want to use it don't. Some of us don't have both a color
and a monochrome monitor, but have fun checking out neat little software
packages that run on the other moni ( EMULA goes both ways ). Therefore, when
I used EMULA and it actually worked with most applications ( other moni emus
don't work with much ) I was quite impressed and though perhaps someone else
might benefit from using it. In making the note about floppy disks I was only
trying to save someone from what MIGHT happen, I never said for sure that it
would. In fact if you use Superboot it would probably be just fine because
you could shut it off on the next boot if it didn't work the first time.
