NOTE- This is not usually the sort of opinion article we go for. Usually we do
articles on just one subject and tack everybody's opinions on this subject
together to show a wide range of views. We left this one as it is because we
don't know what to do with it, but some of it is good! In future, if you want
to express your opinions on a lot of stuff, then contact us first, and we'll
give you an 'interview' text file to fill out!

ONS ... OPINIONS ... OPINIONS ... OPINIONS ... OPINIONS ... OPINIONS ... OPINIO

 By Rolph Rolphnic

Hello. I'm Rolph Rolphnic (who?). I'm here to talk to you all about my
opinions but it's not going to be like Rant in ST Floormat. The opinions....

FALCON
This had better be worth the money, otherwise I'm going to scream very
loudly indeed. And to all those who are a bit annoyed that Atari are taking so
long fixing it, at least they don't sell it to an unsuspecting public when it
doesn'y bloody work anyway, as with the first batch of A1200s released in
bulk. In fact, for every 1 ST returned in a local branch of Dixons, there are 3
A600s and an A1200 returned. "Amigas by Commodore. What a great, hulkingly
steaming pile of jobs they are". Advertising? Too easy, next...

THE BRITS
Well, what can I say? They're not very good are they. "Coveted" one
journalist said. Yeah, sure. About as coveted as an elephants rear end after
its been showered in something that's not particularly coveted. I'm not going
to write any more about it...

MAT OF UNT
Where did he go? It's almost as though he just vanished from the
face of the earth after the Ripped Off party last year. Blimey.

ATARI+COMMODORE vs PC THICKIES ASSOCIATION
This was formed at my school
yesterday in order to rid the sixth year of PC lovers. Get a load of this -
one such jobby suggested that his 25MHz 486SX PC was actually better than a
Falcom and a 1200 put together. Yeah, right. "In what way?" was the immediate
reply from me. "It's faster, for one thing." said the jobby. Yeah, sure mate.
If what Agrajag tells me is true then I'm afraid that the jobby is very
mistaken. And confused. [No, I don't know what Agrajag told him either, but I
assume he must have been talking about the Intel needing 2 clock cycles for
every single cycle on the Motorola, so a "25 MHz" PC is often really 12.5 MHz!
-EGBSS] Not to mention stupid and non-comprehending of bloody amazing
technology when I throw a very heavy tech spec document at him at a high
velocity. You may think that siding with an Amiga freak is a bit "not on" as
such, but if you only knew what this stupid, stupid PC 'suit' is like then you
would completely agree with me just how much the world needs rid of guys like
him. Note that not all PC owners are like this, and some have already been
beaten into a state of admission that Falcon is extremely brilliant (although
it won't be if Atari don't get it out this time with advertising) and do not
even try to pretend that their pathetic PC is even close to such power as the
Falcon. Or the A1200 for that matter. Tubes.

OCEAN, US GOLD & THE CRAP ONES
Oh dear. I think not all the games on the
Falcon are going to be brilliant. Well, not if these houses have developer
machines anyway, and I suspect they have. Unless of course, they seriously
clean up their act and actually release good games. Which I doubt. Not in-
house ones anyway.

THE RATHER FUNKY ONES
Well, Mirage are doing Space Junk (which looks mighty
impressive), DML from TPT is doing, umm, something amazing probably (right?),
Jeff Minter has (?) done Llamazap (yeah!). I suspect MicroProse is doing some
sort of spectaculat 3D extravaganza (extremely fast too, if what Agrajag tells
me about the DSP calculation speed is indeed true. [No I don't know either, but
I expect it's pretty fast anyway! -EGBSS] Do you think it could be that fast?
I'm beginning to wonder if it is true (I've done calculations!)).

THE END
 Well, this isn't an opinion.
